BRIDGE Program

Sword & Spirit Seminary features a BRIDGE PROGRAM for students who have not yet earned a college degree but would like to earn a MDiv.

Similar programs with additional course requirements and some courses earning dual credit are in place at institutions like Loyola University, Boston University, Penn State, Pepperdine and Johns Hopkins titled with terms such as Integrated, Accelerated, Dual or Combined. 4 requirements, 8 credits.

Biblical Interpretation & Preaching

Since biblical interpretation & preaching is the heart of ministry, we are vigilant in offering strong but straightforward curriculum in hermeneutics, exegesis and preaching. Digging deep yields both truth and treasure! Seven course offerings ensure student preparedness to study to show themselves approved.

Theology & Church History

Knowing the fundamentals of Christianity helps us understand who God is, what He’s done, how we can expect him to work in our lives, and what He expects of us. Classic primary doctrine and its development is an essential and central stabilizer to followers of Christ, while secondary doctrinal studies can be be unexpectedly enlightening and fascinating.

Bible Knowledge

These Old and New Testament courses help students see the magnificent unity and central theme of the Bible‒ highlighting God’s covenant promises to Israel and the connections between the testaments. New Testament courses offer a transformative journey into early Christianity by exploring its historical, cultural, and theological contexts. Students may additionally explore the biblical history and enduring theological significance of Jerusalem.

Apologetics & Evangelism

Purposely emphasizing subject areas which enrollees tell us need shoring up or strengthening, Sword & Spirit Seminary offers six courses in the Christian Apologetics and Evangelism department. A sound foundation in the beliefs of the Christian faith as compared to opposing world religions, religious philosophies and cults is essential for Christian leaders today.

Counseling, Transformation & Spiritual Power

While seminary training in general tends to be highly educational, it’s our desire for students to experience transformation as well. We strive to provide such opportunities. Expect a strong focus on freedom in Christ, spiritual maturity, the powerful Voice of God, Biblical counseling, and deliverance counseling.

Leadership, Ethics & Citizenship

Innovative leadership skills can revolutionize a ministry, but excellence or ethical confusion or compromise can tear it apart. Today’s ministers need to be equipped to lead scripturally and effectively while dismantling stagnation.  This departmetn seeks to help leaders clarify their roles and processes, navigate contemporary issues, and meet challenges with courage.

Degree Completion

Sword & Spirit Seminary’s Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry programs equips students to excel in full-time professional ministry. Students look forward to submitting a thesis, a dissertation, and possibly enjoying a practicum.
