CTSP501‒ The Perpetual Voice of God: Description
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The Perpetual Voice of God is a greatly needed and carefully documented exploration of the biblical, historical, and theological question of whether God still speaks personally and moves supernaturally in the lives of believers today. The course traces the prophetic thread from the Old Testament through the early church, addressing why prophetic standards differ markedly between the Old and New Testaments — a distinction that changes everything.
Students will encounter familiar names in unfamiliar territory as the course brings to light the fascinating and surprising accounts of well-known Christian pioneers and leaders through the centuries whose experiences defied their own theological expectations — accounts that have been collecting dust in seminary archives far too long, and in some cases were deliberately left there.
This course was designed for the student who finds the idea of God speaking and moving supernaturally today either theologically unacceptable, uncomfortable, or experientially foreign — as well as for the student who has embraced the prophetic without the biblical and historical grounding to sustain it. Wherever you are arriving from, there is a seat at this table.
Come with your questions. The exploration is worth it.

DEPARTMENT: Counseling, Transformation & Spiritual Power
Raymond & Lynmarie Franklyn
Survivor of a 15-month oppression, Raymond’s expertise in depression and suicidal ideation is extensive, and his spiritual optimism contagious. After his instantaneous deliverance, the couple began ministry training, eventually earning MDiv’s and DMin’s from Shalom Bible College and Seminary. Raymond was commissioned by the US Air Force Auxiliary and served as a Chaplain in the Civil Air Patrol; while Lynmarie focused on developing resources related to discerning the Voice of God. They’ve served as lead pastors and ministers in several churches including inner-city churches and black churches; and the couple also trained and established several prophetic ministry teams.
