CTSP503‒ Redemption from Tyrannical Inner Roots: Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Scripture calls us to spiritual maturity, yet we continue to see childlike behavior among the Christians we know, and find ourselves behaving in ways we ourselves often regret. What is it that keeps us from walking in the joy of the Lord and experiencing real spiritual liberty?

The concepts in this course‒ which incorporate both biblical principles and principles of psychology‒ have been utilized in counseling centers for many years with phenomenal results.

As our spiritual life forms and builds, we may be unaware of processes started in childhood which steal our ability to truly put into practice what we learn about living in Christ. Through awareness of this process and personal introspection, we can learn to overcome negative thoughts, irrational feelings and habitual sins.

Without physically sitting across the room from a counselor, students experience transformation as related to their own development and as related to the truth of the scripture and the character of God. This study will not only be helpful to you personally, but profoundly effective in your ministry to others

Robert S. McGee

DEPARTMENT: Counseling, Transformation & Spiritual Power

Robert S. McGee

Robert McGee is a professional counselor and lecturer. He is founder of Rapha, a nationally recognized health care organization that provides in-hospital and outpatient care with a Christ-centered perspective for adults and adolescents suffering with psychiatric and substance abuse problems. He is also president of Search Resources. Ordained as a Southern Baptist minister, his books have sold millions of copies. In his book The Search for Significance, McGee confronts the lies that trigger cycles of self-doubt and God-doubt which rob us of our joy. One by one, this author helps students confront such lies and dismantle them, while pointing to a higher truth that is the source of meaning and of life itself.
